Peter Nicolino is an accomplished multimedia journalist, broadcaster, and audio engineer with a proven track record across radio, television, and print media. Currently, Peter works as a Broadcast Contractor for Bloomberg Radio and Television, where he conducts live on-air news reports, records show promos, and assists in developing programs like the award-winning Bloomberg Business of Sports. As a primary audio board operator for NFL and NCAA game broadcasts, he contributes to Bloomberg’s reach of over 1.6 million U.S. audio listeners and millions more worldwide across digital platforms and podcasts.
Peter’s extensive experience extends to Hofstra University’s WRHU 88.7 FM — a four-time Marconi Award-winning station — where he served as News Director, Producer, Anchor, and Writer. There, he managed the newsroom’s operations, leading a team of over 50 journalists to produce acclaimed daily shows including Newsline and The Morning Wake-Up Call. In the sports department, Peter provided play-by-play and color commentary for Hofstra Athletics, with highlights featured on NCAA social media accounts. Additionally, he engineered live broadcasts for the New York Islanders' radio network, a unique student-run collaboration with ESPN Radio.
His passion for storytelling also thrives in print journalism. As a Staff Writer for The Hofstra Chronicle, Peter covered sports, politics, and feature stories, serving as the primary beat reporter for Hofstra Volleyball. Previously, he was the Sports and Politics Editor at Compass News, reporting on major events like the 2022 U.S. Midterm Elections. Peter holds a B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Sports Media and a minor in Global Studies from Hofstra University, and an A.A.S. in Radio and Television from Suffolk County Community College. He is skilled in news script writing, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Wheatstone audio boards, and AP ENPS systems.
